50F, Clear and Sunny

Today I feel EXCELLENT, so I'm in the woods to celebrate. I climbed onto a glacially-deposited rock even though I had to jump a little to get there. It's hard to be brave.

Who is the bird that goes "nyo! nyow!" - they sound so human that it catches me off guard.

When I am happy I feel so many things. The squish of soil under my feet is my favorite. SO many bird calls - caws, croaks, little "beep beep beep"...

Passing Stellar's Jay!

3:54 found a dry, mossy spot in a swamp to sit. Even the bumblebee that followed me around is resting here. The swamp is dominated by thin cedars and fallen birches, with water hemlock and Lyngby Sedge taking up the dark, glassy water. The surface contorts and ripples with bugs chasing each other around. Nurse logs and fallen root wads dictate the channels and the architecture.

Whoa. Hears "hoo-HOO, hoo-HOO" like a pottery whistle. Who could that be? Maybe an owl? Meanwhile, echoing woodpecker.

Hummingbird, green flitting. And a snorting buzzing noise that I fear. Time to go.
